Shoreline 05:09
Shoreline Blue shadows at my window pane as night comes swooping down, I gaze at the horizon as it stretches over town and get lost in the distances that roll on like my thoughts to the places I would travel with my love. A night breeze blows in circles through the atmosphere, my eyes have seen the changes of another year; solitude and silence walk the spaces of my heart where the blues have made their new home and loss has made its mark, and the words in my mind speak of far away, another life, when the love in our eyes was sweet, still felt good to me; when the tides of emotion bore us on their waves to some distant shoreline that grows fainter day by day. Which star amongst the billions can help me navigate my way across this unknown world, which light illuminate, the places of my passing, the contents of my thoughts before weariness invades my bones and deep sleep finally calls? Darkness and I fly above the town, to the edges of the ocean I am bound, to the edges of the solid earth I will travel and above the waters I'll fly towards tomorrow...

Flying South For Winter People making too much noise for me to stand the weather, radio plays to happy people listening all together - I want to go now, get away, to where the sun shines everyday, flying south for winter. Will you see the room I leave? Will you see the mirror? Will you see the note I leave when I’m flying south for winter? I may come home again one day when all my dreams have blown away, flying south for winter.

A Song of the Sea The voice of the sea reaches to land and calls out to me: “Come and take my hand, let me carry you away, come with me, to the ends of the earth. Here is my touch cleansing your skin, I open myself and I welcome you in, let me carry you away, come with me to the ends of the earth. I ache when moonlight begins to cover my body, I lie here waiting for you to lay down beside me... and day after day I reach for your hands, my body is yours, let me wrap it around, let me carry you away, come with me, to the ends of the earth.”

Green Hills 04:29
Green Hills (In The Mid-Day Air) I saw her stood looking over the waters, I walked across the sands to meet her there Looking out to another country, Green hills rolling in the mid-day air. She said: “Here is something from nothing” As we watched and we waited there Looking out to another country, Green hills rolling in the mid-day air. And nothing much happened but small waves and bird calls As sea salt and sand mingled in my hair And we looked out to another country, Green hills rolling in the mid-day air.

Leave These Shores I’ll put away that whiskey bottle - the border has been crossed - and I’ll get off here without a tear - there’s too many friends I’ve lost. It’s time to find a new direction and head for clearer skies - I’m not sure what lies in store, I can only improvise; and with cool breeze on calm seas it’s time to leave these shores. Time will bring my journeys end, I’ve paid full fare; where’s the laughs of days gone past - do or don’t I dare? And with cool breeze on calm seas it’s time to leave these shores…

Spanish Night Masts of boats fill the marina, the main street is a catwalk in the Spanish night, in the Spanish night. The air is warm and the smiles are wide, we can take our troubles, we can blow them aside in the Spanish night, in the Spanish night. Yolanda dances in the night, she twists and turns, she holds our sight in the Spanish night, in the Spanish night. Do you remember home? Do you remember winter? Do you remember life before you came here in the Spanish night? In the Spanish night. We are young men on a street of gold, young men on a street of gold, watching the night buzz around our shoulders, we are young men on a street of gold.

Melt Into The Island As the waves reach to the shore and the fish move through the coral I watch the divers dive, from the jetty they are flying for a moment through the air, through the wind that whips the sand up, that blows the water wild beneath their lean, dark skinned bodies. On a rooftop late at night, whilst singing songs and drinking, I look across the bay, at its blue and naked body; a scent of paradise perfumes every view and moment, covering every broken life and every hollow house shell. There are many shades of blue beneath the boats that are rocking and rolling; a plane flies overhead, so low it almost touches the water. Sand is in my hair, the light is almost blinding - there is nothing to be done, just melt into the island.

Look Up 04:54
Look Up Sun darts fell through twilight, Red flames rolled on the sea, With night an ancient world emerged And beckoned unto me: “Look up, look up from your concrete gaze, Leave the oil and steel behind, Let my paths take your wandering feet And my stories fill your mind.” There old towns clung to sheer cliff stone, Sulphur rose up from the ground, A hermits cave looking over the waves Became my mid-day home, And in its shade I closed my eyes, Let my thoughts swim in the sound Of the sea and its countless waves As they lapped against the shore. I walked a long deserted road Past goats and cypress trees, Climbed a cliff to stand alone And watch the port below; The wind it wove its weightless threads Over the earth and sea, Amongst the old walls and sculpted stones I sat and watched the daylight ebb. “Look up, look up from your tangled thoughts, Leave your troubles for a time, Let the light and the endless blue Consume the shadows of your mind.

Brought To Life Sat by this ocean with nowhere left to go, I do not want to leave, I do not want to leave. Drawn by your distances, life closer than I've known, I do not want to leave, I do not want to leave. With your breath on the air and your body on the earth Who could blame me if I stayed? Who could blame me if I stayed? For you are the surest sign that I finally belong. Who could blame me if I stayed? Who could blame me if I stayed? For what was I but a passing shade Brought to life by the love we made?

Tides 04:33
Tides I live on the earth as a grain amongst sand and oh the tides was over me. Day follows day and year follows year and oh the tides wash over me. I think of the world and I think of my place, all the people I know and the future I face, all the love I have known and the life I've called my own... I live in my place and I live in my time and oh the tides wash over me.
